One Mother's Experience Inspired a New Kind of Support
Tilt Milk began with a real experience, a real need, and one mother's determination to create something better.
As a pumping mother, Shaolin experienced how physically demanding a pumping session could be. Pumping required time, positioning, equipment, and patience—often during a season of life when rest was already hard to find.
She began to wonder why so much attention was placed on the pump itself, while so little attention was paid to the comfort of the mother using it.
That question became the beginning of Tilt Milk.
Shaolin envisioned a support system that could work alongside an existing breast pump and help a mother rest more comfortably in a forward-leaning position. She was not trying to create another pump. She was creating support for the person doing the pumping.

From a Personal Need to a Working Prototype
Turning that first idea into something tangible did not happen overnight. Over four years, Shaolin worked through the design and prototyping process—rethinking details, refining the concept, and continuing through the many stages required to transform an idea into a functional prototype.
Today, Tilt Milk represents more than a product concept. It represents persistence, thoughtful design, and a belief that mothers deserve to be considered in every part of the pumping experience.
The prototype is working. The next step is preparing the design for production and inviting a larger community to become part of the journey.
